(Murrow, Edward R. [1908-1965]). Harris, Martin. A STRONGLY EVOCATIVE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF THE LEGENDARY BROADCAST JOURNALIST EDWARD R. MURROW. [1949]. A 12-3/8 inch high by 8-1/4 inch wide black & white photograph of Edward R. Murrow on 14 inch high by 11 inch wide photo paper. The portrait depicts the legendary broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow with his patterned tie loose, sleeves rolled up and the collar of his white shirt unbuttoned. Seated sideways, leaning attentively toward the camera, the pose emphasizes the dark suspenders holding up tweed pants. Depicted from the hips up, Murrow's right arm rests on the arm of the chair. His creased brow emphasizes his serious nature. This is one of a very few prints of a photograph by Martin Harris pulled from the original negative in the 1990's and offered for sale at a special fund-raising event. An auction sticker, with the number "96", is mounted on the verso. Near fine.
