Obverse design
An effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, and the monogram ‘IRB’ surrounded by the inscriptions:
(a) ‘ELIZABETH II’; and
(b) ‘AUSTRALIA 2004’; and
(c) ‘ONE DOLLAR’.
Reverse design
A design consisting of:
(a) a stylised representation of a lion in profile holding seals; and
(b) the inscription ‘TESTING R. AUST. MINT’.
A pattern One Dollar coin from 1977 struck by the Royal Australian Mint.
The design was never used for any Australian coins except for the commemorative coin in 2004.
The mintage is unknown but believed to be very small.
