This wonderful piece of art is hand carved cedar wood and mahogany color painted
and original shaped of the Mayan chief, or "Ruler" . Probably used for dancing mask.
It has writing on back which say in Spanish ( Hecho a Mano By ....) Hand Made by
L. Tomas Ignacio Ventuta, Chichicastenango Guatemala, Central America.
This beauty has large Quetzal birds on bought sides , which is surrounded by feathers.
The quetzal bird was used only by Mayas ruler chief as symbol of authority....
For 1000's of years a Maya's ruler were men, but few women all so were discovered
to be the king or ruler which was a very important role For the ancient Men Mayas
(Central America & Mexicans ), authority and closed to God , as well as an integral
part of Mayan society
It's a beautiful for hanging or, too use. Great home décor or office, or extra
fine addition to your collection.......
