This is a REBUILD service - if you want an outright purchase (in a modern case) see: eBay item number: 285404916137 or 155747764644

It is necessary to send YOUR OWN OLD DEVICE and it will be REBUILT using the best modern components available, whilst maintaining originality - really the best option available! Once you have placed your order eBay will allow the address for postage to be emailed to you. The part numbers listed correspond to the photos, showing the common case types.

The despatch turn-around time (eBay delivery date estimate) allows for two-way postage (sometimes international). In reality they can usually be done much more quickly - but it is best to ask if you are in a hurry.

This is a top-quality electronic +10 volt ‘instrument supply’ NEGATIVE EARTH voltage stabiliser (voltage regulator) that can be used to directly replace most old-style bimetallic stabilisers on classic cars or to rebuild failed electronic regulators.

If you want quality and originality, look no further - many of the new (and more expensive) look-alike components aren't what you would hope for! Many of the alternatives do not use automotive standard components and so are more prone to failure. The same quality is also available in a modern case - see the item mentioned above.

The replacement negative earth component will employ a top-quality semiconductor regulator specifically design for vehicular applications. It will withstand 2-battery jump-starts and is protected against accidental short-circuit, thermal overload and will stand reverse battery connection. The device exhibits a low 'drop-out' performance and should typically maintain 10 volts output with an input of 10.5 volts. The maximum continuous output current is 1 Amp, which should be far more than is needed for fuel and water temperature gauges.

A positive earth version is also available, see eBay item: 286491187758; note that positive earth devices cannot be produced to the same full automotive standard, but do employ thermal shut-down and current limiting that should offer protection against accidental short-circuiting or overload. Positive earth stabilisers are ONLY available as rebuilds, for technical reasons they are not compatible in plastic cases.

Normally, once you have purchased the item you will be sent my postal address so you can despatch your stabiliser for rebuilding (if you wish, you can carefully open the case to reduce the size and get it in large letter).

The 'compatible vehicles' list is only a guide to some of the vehicles employing these stabilisers - non-inclusion does not mean it is unsuitable.

Please note that, as I have no control over the installation, no warranty is given or implied for any consequential damage that might result from failure of the device.
