Genuine natural deodorizing Armenian paper, triple notebook
Edition “The Year of Armenia”
“Born more than 120 years ago, the famous Papier d'Italie notebook contains detachable strips of scented brown paper. Its artisanal manufacturing is strictly based on the original methods and still takes place in the Montrouge workshop.
The unique smell of the little brown paper owes all its merit to Benzoin resin. Auguste Ponsot discovered the disinfectant virtues of this resin during a trip to Armenia. He decides to import the benefits to France. Renowned since Antiquity for its antiseptic, healing and expectorant properties, benzoin balm was once used externally to treat asthma, coughs and hoarseness. »
“The graphic design of the cover of the exclusive year of Armenia notebook pays homage to the richness of Armenian calligraphy. It is inspired by patterns from traditional decorative art and the colors of the Armenian flag.
It is enriched with an “illuminated initial” called “Tertchna-Kir”, a contraction of the words “bird” and “letter”.
Frankincense, myrrh, woody notes and vanilla escape from the paper as it burns.
Francis Kurkdjian, famous creator – perfumer, is the author of this aroma. His mission? Revisiting the mythical smell to get closer to Armenian scents, giving it a mystical and orientalist side.
