The original Zero Tolerance 0454 was an award-winning collaboration between ZT and custom knife designer Dmitry Sinkevich. But it was also a very Limited Edition knife.
To make this amazing knife more readily available, ZT has created a new-for-2015 version based on the original’s streamlined form and high-performance function. The 0452CF is the same size as the original 0454, but with a carbon fiber front scale and S35VN dual-finished blade. S35VN sharpens to a razor edge, holds it, and can be resharpened easily. The 0452CF opens as smooth as butter with the KVT ball-bearing opening system and built-in flipper. A titanium frame lock with hardened steel lockbar insert ensures solid lock up
As a final touch of class, the 0452CF features handsome 5-spoke pivot hardware. From office to outdoors, the 0452CF is ready to go wherever you're ready to take it
Zero Tolerance—Tough Materials, Tough Tech
Designed and manufactured to stand up to heavy-duty use, Zero Tolerance Knives are built of premium materials such as S30V, ELMAX, or 154CM blade steel and 3-D machined G-10 handle scales. All ZT knives, whether folderor fixed blade, are made to provide the user with maximum strength and versatility. The knives have earned a reputation among their devoted fans for being “built like a tank” or “a real beast” or even being—proudly—“overbuilt.” All Zero Tolerance knives are made in the United States of America and are built to conquer just about anything.
High-performance steels
Zero Tolerance uses high-performance steels designed for hard use
Many ZT steels are advanced "powdered" steels
Such advanced steels enable ZT to create complex blade geometries
Assisted Opening
Uses a torsion bar to help move the blade out of the handle
Enables smooth and easy one-handed opening of ZT's heavier blades
Assisted opening knives are not switchblades
KVT ball-bearing opening system
A manual opening system
Enables smooth and easy one-handed opening of ZT's heavier blades, even without a spring or torsion bar
Uses ball bearings to enable the blade to glide out of the handle
Flipper
Enables fast and easy one-handed opening
Ambidextrous—works for left- and right-handers
Both manual and assisted opening knives may have a flipper
Blade locking systems
Prevent folding blades from closing during use
ZT employs two main types of locking systems
Pocketclips & mounting systems
