To ensure you have the right outleted IBC to fit these fittings you should double check that your IBC outlet is 2 inches wide and has a very coarse buttress thread (having a maximum of 2 or 3 threads) on the outside of the IBC outlet.
The adaptor is a heavy duty plastic fitting that comes with a thick seal. The updated version as you can see in the photo actually has a swivel connection, releasing pressure from the valve. The adaptor gives you a 2 inch BSP female thread with which the 2 inch Hose Tail screws into.
PTFE no longer required as adaptor comes with a thick rubber washer for hose tail to screw up to.
