Original vintage Barbie Volkswagen Golf Convertible toy car by Mattel, dating from the 1980s, complete with its original illustrated Barbie VW Golf Convertible box.

This is the silver Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Cabriolet model with the original colourful Barbie graphics, black wheels, detailed interior and removable convertible roof components. The underside is marked Mattel, Made in Italy, 1981, while the original UK packaging carries a 1984 copyright date. Model reference 7873.

A lovely surviving example of this distinctive 1980s Barbie vehicle, retaining its original decorative stickers and a particularly smart overall appearance. The silver bodywork presents well with some light scratches, marks and general cosmetic wear consistent with its age. The interior is clean and retains the original steering wheel, dashboard detailing and seatbelts.

The opening rear boot operates correctly, all four wheels are secure and roll freely, and the removable roof/hood components are present.

IMPORTANT - WINDSCREEN CONDITION: The original windscreen is present and can be positioned on the car, but both lower mounting points are damaged. When viewing the car from the front, the left-hand mounting tab has broken away from the windscreen and remains attached to the vehicle, while the right-hand mounting tab is missing. The windscreen also has some age-related discolouration and surface wear. The main vehicle body is unaffected by this damage. Detailed photographs are included showing the affected areas.

ORIGINAL BOX: Supplied with its original 1984 Mattel Barbie VW Golf Convertible illustrated cardboard box. The box is heavily worn and structurally damaged, with significant creasing, tears, crushed and worn edges, and missing sections of the end flaps. The original printed artwork remains largely present. A separate cardboard insert has been placed inside to help support the box and maintain its shape.
