Two black basalt style stoneware teapots and two similar jugs, often referred to as Egyptian Black. All are unmarked though one teapot does have '55' impressed under the handle. They are probably made by Cyples of Staffordshire or Castleford of Yorkshire. They have a number of chips which I have photographed. They date from the early 19th century.
In order of the photographs, their dimensions are
First teapot: 16.6 cm length x 11 cm width x 8.4 cm high. Scenes of figures sitting amongst nature, one of them reading.
Second teapot: 17 cm length x 10.7 cm wide and 9 cm high. This has panels framing bunches of flowers.
Large jug: 12 cm length x 8.8 cm wide and 9.7 cm high
Small jug: 8.8 cm length x 6.5 cm wide and 6.3 cm high. This is decorated with a band of scrolling flowers.
They will be sent in a double walled box with plenty of padding
