1999 MLS Cup Official Program & Year in Review – D.C. United vs. Los Angeles Galaxy – Foxboro Stadium

Original official program from MLS Cup ’99, played November 21, 1999 at Foxboro Stadium in Massachusetts.

This is my original copy from the game — I attended MLS Cup ’99 in person and have kept this program in my personal collection ever since. It has remained with me for more than 25 years and is now being offered directly from that collection.

MLS Cup ’99 featured D.C. United vs. the Los Angeles Galaxy, with D.C. winning 2–0 to capture its third MLS Cup championship in the league’s first four seasons. Jaime Moreno and Ben Olsen scored for D.C. United.

The program is also an excellent snapshot of the very early years of Major League Soccer. Highlights include:

* Original D.C. United and LA Galaxy MLS Cup ’99 roster inserts
* Kevin Hartman, Cobi Jones, Clint Mathis, Paul Caligiuri and Carlos Hermosillo
* Roy Lassiter, Jaime Moreno, Marco Etcheverry, Ben Olsen, Jeff Agoos and Eddie Pope
* Complete 1999 MLS team directory featuring the league’s original-era names and logos
* Feature on the newly redesigned Alan I. Rothenberg Trophy
* MLS season and playoff coverage
* Vintage FIFA 2000 / EA Sports MLS advertisement
* Kellogg’s Soccer/Tony the Tiger advertisement
* Kappa soccer advertising
* Pepsi/Roy Lassiter back-cover advertisement
* Excellent late-1990s MLS photography, graphics and branding throughout

The program originally sold for $5.00, as printed on the cover.

Condition: Very nice vintage condition overall, particularly considering its age and that it was actually taken to the match. Light handling/storage wear is present. Pages appear clean and colorful, binding remains intact, and the separate D.C. United and Los Angeles Galaxy roster sheets are included. Please review all photographs for exact condition.

A great piece of early American soccer history with a direct game-day provenance.
