A very unusual and beautifully constructed handmade wooden cabinet, in the distinctive style of traditional Ethiopian/Habesha furniture.
I have recently identified examples online showing the same distinctive construction and decorative wooden blockwork, including similar coffee tables and smaller cabinets. The design uses numerous individually shaped pieces of wood to create a highly textured, almost mosaic-like finish.
This particular cabinet has:
* Two front-opening doors * Decorative wooden blockwork across the front and sides * Solid wooden frame construction * Original wooden knob handles * Four small turned wooden feet * Decorative wooden elements to the front * A rustic, aged finish * Interior storage/display compartment
The cabinet is a very unusual and decorative piece, and would make an excellent project for someone interested in Ethiopian/Habesha furniture, folk art, handmade furniture, restoration or unusual vintage pieces.
Condition
Please read carefully – this is being sold as a restoration project.
The cabinet is structurally sound, but it does require some attention and restoration.
There are various signs of age and use, including scratches, marks, areas of worn finish, paint/finish loss and general age-related wear.
The hinges and fittings are present but show signs of age.
The wooden knobs also have areas of worn finish.
There is an acrylic/perspex sheet associated with the top of the cabinet. This is optional and is not in particularly good condition, so the buyer can choose whether they wish to retain it or remove it.
I have photographed the cabinet extensively, including the interior, hinges, feet, sides, top and decorative details, so please look carefully through all photographs before purchasing.

Background
I originally acquired this cabinet as a second-hand/vintage piece. I have since found photographs online of very similar handmade Ethiopian/Habesha-style furniture using the same distinctive wooden construction and decorative technique.
I cannot guarantee the exact country of manufacture or date, therefore I am selling it as Ethiopian/Habesha-style rather than making an unsupported claim about its exact provenance.
Perfect restoration project
This would be a fantastic project for someone who appreciates unusual handmade furniture.
It could be sympathetically restored to preserve its original character, or refinished to create a striking piece of decorative furniture.
Please note: this is NOT a newly restored item. It is being sold specifically as a restoration/project piece.
