Vintage Hotblade L3 Blade Putter – Made in England

A genuine vintage British-made Hotblade L3 putter featuring a traditional blade-style head, steel shaft and period-style black grip.

The Hotblade name will be familiar to golfers and collectors of older British golf equipment, with the company producing a variety of traditionally styled putters and clubs in the UK. Examples of Hotblade’s older putters continue to appear on the vintage golf market, including the L1, L3, Radar, Hotspot, Flare and other designs.

This L3 represents a very traditional era of putter design. Rather than the large, highly engineered mallet heads found on modern putters, the L3 uses a wonderfully simple blade profile with a relatively clean, uncluttered appearance. The back of the head is clearly stamped:

“Hotblade®
L3 Made in England”

It would make an interesting addition to a vintage golf collection, a retro set of clubs or could still be put into play by somebody who enjoys the feel and simplicity of an older blade putter.

Condition

This is a used vintage golf club and shows age-related wear throughout.

The putter head has numerous scratches, marks and general surface wear consistent with previous use. There is also visible surface oxidation/rusting, particularly within the recessed rear section of the head and around some of the edges.

The steel shaft has cosmetic wear, marking and areas of surface rust/oxidation. There is also a particularly noticeable worn/marked area on the shaft where what appears to have been an old label or tape has previously been fitted.

The grip appears to be an older/original-style grip and has significant age-related wear, including surface cracking, discolouration and general deterioration. Although still fitted, a buyer intending to use the club regularly may wish to have it regripped.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description and show the condition of the actual putter being sold.

A characterful vintage British putter and a great piece for anyone building a retro golf bag or collecting older Made in England golf equipment.
