Fine condition. The blue genuine leather binding is sound and square, with sharp corners, bright gilt decoration, and no significant wear. The interior is clean and unmarked. The original Certificate of Authenticity, bearing Edmund Hillary’s signature and dated December 13, 1999, has been pasted to the front pastedown rather than retained loose. Also included are the publisher’s introductory note card and a foldout Mount Everest travel brochure. All three accompanying pieces are shown in the photographs.

A deluxe Easton Press edition bound in genuine blue leather, with raised spine bands, elaborate gilt decoration, a gilt-stamped coat of arms on the front cover, gilt page edges, and a satin ribbon marker. The volume is printed on archival-quality, acid-neutral paper. The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity attests that Hillary personally hand-signed each copy of this edition. The publisher’s note card provides background on the book and its author, while the illustrated foldout brochure depicts Mount Everest and identifies notable geographical features and climbing routes.
