Very rare original Moore Motor Semaphore radiator temperature gauge designed for mounting in the radiator cap of a vintage car. This was an alternate brand of temperature gauge competing with the Boyce Moto Meter. This was made by the Semaphoric Indicator Company in Chicago and used red and green "semaphore" markers to communicate radiator coolant temperature. The company did business in the 1920s but was closed down by a patent suit from the Boyce company, making them very rare today. I assume this is from the 1920s but do not know exact age or application. The body is 2 1/2" wide by 3" high by 11/16" thick. Total height with the bottom sensor is 4 1/2". The  body and bezels are beautifully nickel plated solid brass with glass lenses front and rear and silver on black logo plates front and back. This meter is cosmetically very good to excellent with no visible damage, all exterior parts, clean interior plates, and nice glass. The plating is close to perfect and looks hardly used. NOTE: THIS HAS BEEN DISASSEMBLED BEFORE I GOT IT AND IS MISSING THE INTERNAL FASTENERS TO TIE THE PARTS TOGETHER. LOOK AT PHOTOS SHOWING ALL PARTS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS NEEDED TO MAKE IT WORK, BUYER MUST DECIDE BEFORE BIDDING, SOLD AS IS. This is a very attractive and rare period piece and would be a great addition to your collection or use on an antique car. FREE SHIPPING for U.S. buyers only, International shipping cost will vary based on location. NO RESERVE. Please see our other auctions for more rare auto parts and collectible automobilia.
