Vintage German Hunting Knife Solingen Stacked Leather Bow Hunting Camp Bowie

This listing is for a vintage fixed blade knife: Vintage Solingen Germany Stacked Leather Washer Fixed Blade Hunting Knife with Sheath.

This classic piece of mid-century German cutlery showcases an incredibly rugged stacked leather washer handle design finished with an aluminum pommel and a brass guard, serving as a highly collectible and fully functional example of legacy Solingen outdoor field equipment.

The knife was made in Germany by Solingen Cutlery (Unmarked Maker). The handle appears to be made from stacked leather washers with brass and fiber spacers and the blade and metal parts from high-carbon steel. The knife's main blade is approx. 12.5 cm (overall total length of the knife is approx. 23.5 cm). The knife appears to be from approx. 1950s–1960s.

The condition of the knife is in overall good vintage condition. There is signs of age and use. The knife may need sharpening, cleaning and oiling. The high-carbon steel blade exhibits extensive historic carbon spotting, dark surface patina tracking, and light cleaning marks consistent with long-term storage, but the steel remains full with a clean straight edge profile. The original leather sheath shows expected age darkening and light scuffs, but the stitching runs are tight and the retaining strap snap functions perfectly.

These knifes could be used but are more intended for collectors. I've done me best to identify and describe the details of the knife. The photos are the best description, as this is the item you will receive.
