This listing is for a vintage fixed blade knife: Vintage Southern & Richardson Sheffield Hunting Knife with Natural Stag Handle & "Nest" Logo.
This rare piece of historic British cutlery heritage features Southern & Richardson's iconic 'Nest' corporate trademark stamped deeply into the blade face, framed beautifully by a natural stag antler handle grip accented with multi-colored spacer bands.
The knife was made in England by Southern & Richardson (Sheffield). The handle appears to be made from natural stag antler (genuine deer horn) and the blade and metal parts from high-carbon steel. The knife's main blade is approx. 12.5 cm (overall total length of the knife is approx. 23.0 cm). The knife appears to be from approx. 1930s–1950s.
The condition of the knife is in good vintage condition. There is signs of age and use. The knife may need sharpening, cleaning and oiling. The high-carbon steel blade face exhibits classic superficial storage scuffing, age-appropriate sharpening draw lines, and light carbon spot tracking, but retains its original sweeping profile and historic markings beautifully. The genuine stag handle is structurally solid with no cracks, and the aluminum pommel cap remains tightly secured.
These knifes could be used but are more intended for collectors. I've done me best to identify and describe the details of the knife. The photos are the best description, as this is the item you will receive.
