Amano Kunihiro was a Japanese printmaker associated with the twentieth-century Sōsaku-hanga ("creative print") movement. Working primarily in woodblock printing, he produced highly simplified compositions that emphasize bold silhouettes, careful balance, and the expressive qualities of line and negative space. His prints frequently depict birds and other natural subjects with a distinctly modern sensibility.

Created in 1956, Two Crows presents two stylized black crows rendered in sharply simplified forms against a subtly patterned background. The composition demonstrates Amano's economical use of shape and contrast, reducing the birds to essential forms while retaining their distinctive character.
