We present a charming and dramatic seascape painting in oils, ascribed to the back of the frame ‘Harbour entrance Felixstowe’.  The painting is ascribed to Harry Dorr, c1925 – 1930.  Harry Dorr (British, 1872 - 1950), was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire in the Midlands of England.  Although he travelled extensively in the early ears of his career, including to France, mostly Dorr toured the English counties from the south to the northeast.  He was known for his vibrant and dramatic maritime scenes besides the rural  landscapes of Northamptonshire, working mostly in oils although sometimes, he worked in watercolours.   Encouraged to paint professionally by the artist Walter Bonner Gash, (British, 1869 - 1928) he co-founded the Kettering and District Art Society (with Gash), and the Northampton Town and County Art Society.  With Sir Alfred East, (British, 1844 – 1913)  Dorr was a significant player in the Leicester Art Society and widely exhibited his work.  Mamy examples of the work of Harry Door can be seen on artprice.com, arcadia.com, askart.com, mutualart.com and invaluable.com besides several regional and international auction sites and galleries.    Presented in good  overall condition in  a  later frame  this painting will look fabulous displayed
