Victorian Silver Milk Churn Pepper Pot
Chester 1897 • Sterling Silver
A charming Victorian sterling silver pepper pot by Saunders & Shepherd, modelled as a miniature milk churn and hallmarked Chester 1897.

The tapered body is detailed with engraved horizontal bands and two small side handles. The flared lift-off cover has a recessed pierced top, central knop and gilt finish.

The hallmarks are neatly positioned beneath the base, comprising the CS★FS maker’s mark, sterling silver lion passant, Chester assay mark and date letter “O” for 1897. Corresponding lion and date marks appear on the cover.

CONDITION

Good antique condition overall, with surface scratches, minor marks and small knocks to the base rim. Areas of tarnishing, with wear and dark spotting to the gilding on the cover. Hallmarks remain legible. Please examine all photographs for the condition and detail.
