About the Callaway X Hot
Released for the 2013 season, the original X Hot was designed around generating additional clubhead and ball speed while retaining the forgiveness recreational golfers wanted from a full-sized 460cc driver. The standard X Hot was the larger and more forgiving counterpart to the smaller X Hot Pro.
Callaway used a lightweight head construction and redistributed mass within the head to optimise the centre of gravity and help maintain ball speed when impact moved away from the centre of the face. The standard 9.5° model was produced with a 460cc head, with published specifications listing an adjustable face angle.
The adjustable hosel allows the golfer to alter the club’s setup rather than being permanently committed to one face-angle configuration. This makes the X Hot a useful older driver for somebody who wants some adjustability without spending modern-driver money.
Project X PXv 6.0 Shaft
This club is fitted with a Project X PXv graphite shaft marked 6.0. In Project X terminology, 6.0 corresponds broadly to a Stiff flex, making this setup most appropriate for a golfer with a reasonably positive or faster driver swing who prefers a firmer-feeling shaft.
The combination of the 9.5° head and 6.0 shaft makes this a particularly appealing specification for a player looking for a lower-lofted driver rather than one of the higher-loft X Hot configurations.
Condition
This is a used golf club and shows normal cosmetic signs of previous play.
From the photographs:
* The clubface remains in good playable condition, showing normal strike marks and light surface wear. * The crown has cosmetic marks, light scratches and small chips/marks, as clearly pictured. * The sole has the expected cosmetic wear and scratching from use. * There is some cosmetic wear to the white/red sole detailing. * The Project X shaft has some cosmetic marking/wear, including around the label area, but no obvious structural damage is visible in the supplied photographs. * The Callaway grip remains fitted and appears to retain usable tread.
There are no obvious major dents or cracks visible in the head from the photographs. Please study all supplied close-up photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
Who Would This Suit?
A strong option for a golfer wanting a recognisable Callaway adjustable driver at a sensible used price. Despite its age, the X Hot still offers the fundamental ingredients most golfers look for in a driver: a full 460cc head, forgiveness, adjustable setup and a quality graphite shaft.
The 9.5° / Project X 6.0 Stiff combination is likely to be best suited to a golfer with a moderate-to-faster swing rather than someone specifically requiring a soft or senior-flex setup.
A very usable example of one of Callaway’s better-known driver families and an excellent candidate for a main driver, affordable upgrade, spare club or second set.
Please review all photographs carefully for the exact cosmetic condition of the club you will receive.
