Loading the Hay After The Harvest 19thC Oil Painting British School Unsigned c1900
ARTIST: Victorian School, late 19thC British School artist SUBJECT: A working farmstead, late 19th C, farmfolk loading the hay wagon after the wheat harvest MEDIUM: Oil on card SIGNATURE: Appears unsigned DATE: c1900 to slightly earlier SIZE: Visible painting 51 x 29cm (20 x 11 inches), Frame 68 x 47cm (26.5 x 18.5 inches), Depth 6cm (2.5 inches) PROVENANCE: British estate sale, private collection, from a large folio of antique works of art after several years of storage CONDITION: Fair, subject as follows: Overall, the work would benefit from a clean following years of storage; an abrasion to the top edge to the frame, shows minor paint loss; the bottom right corner, to the frame, was bent and shows a crease line but does not overly detract. This painting is in a genuine, unrestored condition and has a certain charm about it FRAME: Original frame shows light age-related wear; has lost part of its pine blackboarding showing the art card media. As per the painting, the frame is in a genuine condition, suitable for rehousing or restoring to suit the client FOR SALE BY AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE.

Presented in a genuine, unrestored condition, the artist should be researched further given the quality of the work.
