Early 1900’s Store Interior Black and White Photograph, 7 x 5 inches, no photographer identified, no location identified, probably 1920’s-30’s, probably American, water stain along top edge, black and white photograph printed on paper with embossed self-framed edges, a shop caught in time with the owner in a hat and vest standing off to the right, there is a World War I Red Cross poster “Annual Roll Call” attached to the wood below a glass showcase in the front center, 2 baby dolls sit on top of the glass with a potted plant between them, inside the showcase on the right are 2 Indian baskets filled with something folded while between them is a leather fringed garment with a string of beads on top of it, to the left in the front corner is a pocket watch, there are various boxes and items filling the rest of the case, near the ceiling at the back of the store is a sign that reads “If you don’t see what you want, Ask for it”, another sign to the right reads “Shoe Department”, along the right wall are shelves full of products, along a rail at the top are what look to be ladies pantaloons, on the wall above is a dispenser for “Aladdin” products (the lamp maker), on the counter in front of the shopkeeper is a folded piece of cloth, towards the center back is a tall case with a toy riding horse on top, in front appears to be a religious painting, along a rail to the right are more ladies garments including a corset and white shirts or nightgowns, at the left is the glass cabinet holding cigars, further down are more shelves with dishes and other items, at the back wall appears a customer smoking a pipe under a calendar marked “Goodrich” and February, the year is hard to read, there is so much to see here that it is impossible to list everything, a true General Store.
