Up for sale is a charming, antique Japanese relief-molded earthenware teapot, manufactured for export during the Art Deco interwar period around the 1920s to 1930s. This highly collectible piece features a raised, three-dimensional figural scene depicting an 18th-century European colonial couple standing beneath stylized green tree branches.

The teapot features a warm, cream-colored base glaze accented by vibrant underglaze hand painting. It retains its original, functional flexible bent bamboo or cane handle wrapped with security wires. The reverse base features a faded vintage stamped cherry blossom maker's mark characteristic of early Japanese porcelain exports.

This antique teapot is in Great Vintage Condition, especially considering its age and the soft nature of early earthenware. There are no major chips, structural cracks, or repairs. The body features an all-over, heavy network of natural glaze crazing, which gives it a wonderful antique patina. The original bamboo handle remains securely attached and intact. A minor factory glaze skip or pop is present on the upper rim lip from initial kiln firing, which is completely smooth to the touch. This is a common manufacturing characteristic of this era and not post-production damage.
