Crafted in India and fully hand embroidered throughout, this large ivory wool scarf is a striking piece of vintage textile work. Measuring 107 cm (42.1 in) wide by 220 cm (86.6 in) long, it features a full repeat of delicately worked paisley motifs, each framed in tiny floral vines, with an intricately bordered edge running both lengthways.

The craftsmanship is exceptional, the reverse is nearly identical to the front, a hallmark of high-skill artisan embroidery. The thread colours are soft and tonal: dusky pink, brown, and olive. There’s a tiny hand-stitched signature in one corner with the number 90, likely the year of production, confirming its vintage origin.

Made from a light but substantial plain wool (not pashmina), this is clearly not a mass-produced item. It feels like a personal piece from a time and place where textile art still carried weight.

Condition is very good vintage , 2 tiny repairs are shown in photo 3 and 4 soft signs of age and wear to the fringes and general surface, consistent with occasional use and careful storage.
