“A Flying Fish. The Beginning of Japanese Vintage Divers.”

This is the Orient automatic watch “Olympia Calendar Auto Orient 40M Diver Ref. T-19735A.” Along with the “21 Diver” from the same era, it is an important model in the history of Japanese vintage divers.

In the Japanese diver watch market of the 1960s, this model stood out with its unique design and high technical quality, different from Citizen and Seiko. This is the rare “40M Diver” version, which strongly highlighted its water resistance for its time.

The dial is a beautiful deep black. The “Calendar Auto Orient” logo is printed in script below 12 o’clock. The bold arrow hands and faceted applied indexes create a strong vintage look and excellent readability.

The case is made of durable stainless steel and measures 39mm in diameter and 12mm thick. The crown features a raised “ORIENT” logo, while the rugged coin-edge rotating bezel with fine triangular markings gives the watch an authentic tool-watch appearance.

The case back is a snap-back type with a large flying fish engraving in the center. Inside is the reliable 21-jewel automatic Cal. 670 movement, which still runs strongly and accurately after many years.

The watch is fitted with an original vintage Orient bracelet. Overall, it retains a strong vintage character from its era.

This is an attractive vintage watch suitable for both everyday use and collection.

Condition, Scratches, Bracelet Links & Accessories

【Dial】 There are minor scratches and light linear scratches. The hands, indexes, and lume have deteriorated over time.

【Case & Case Back】 There are scuffs and minor scratches. There is a crack on the case back. Some color fading is visible on the bezel.

【Crystal】 There are scuffs, minor scratches, and fine dust particles.

【Bracelet】 The Orient name is visible on the buckle. There are scuffs and minor scratches, but it is ready to wear.

【Operation】 The bezel rotates in both directions. The knob on the right side of the case is the crown. The watch can be manually wound in its normal position.

Although this is an automatic watch, if the hands have stopped, gently shake the watch in your palm and manually wind the crown until the hands start moving before use. Turn the crown clockwise by pushing it forward with the pad of your finger. Wind it slowly and gently.

Pulling out and turning the crown allows you to set the time. There is no hacking function.

The date is adjusted by moving the hands. It has a quick date change by turning the hands backward.
