Grateful Dead ! ... 1982 Spring Tour !! ... & " Dead Set ! " Art Fans !!! Offered
here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage
Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the April 9th, 1982 ( 4/9/82 ) Show at the
Rochester War Memorial ! in Rochester, New York ( NY ) !! Incredible ! Art Design
& Colors! on this Rochester Spring '82 Pass ... Red & White on
the image itself - and Blue on both the border - and on " Grateful
Dead !!! ". As with any G.D. Pass - the Beauty ! is always in the eye of the
beholder - obviously ... but, this one just looks Awesome ! with these Red,
White & Blue contrasts ... both U.S.A. ! & Grateful Dead !!
Style !!! The Passes from this Spring '82 Era all ' varied ' in the use
& combination of colors ... but, at least in my personal opinion -
this one here is at the Top ! Bold & Bright - to say the very least. And Musically ! ... just like in '77 ! - The Grateful Dead did more-than leave
their mark on the Good Ol' Rochester War Memorial !!! Quite frankly ... they
were Bringing-It !!! And, at least in my opinion - this Spring '82 Tour
is one of the more ' underrated ' Dead Tours of All-Time ! - as my ears most-certainly
have many " Moments of Magic ! " on this run. And this night at Rochester -
no exception at all ... as it's right in this conversation. With an
Alabama > Greatest opener, they were just Hot ! right out of the
starting gate ! The back to back C.C. Rider - followed by Bird Song -
take you straight from the Blues ! - to the Moon !! Jerry plays the
wide-open parts hard ! on this one - Nice !! After tight versions of both
All Over Now & Loser - a pounding & jammy ! Minglewood ensues -
with Huge ! slide-guitar trades ... Tasty ! And then ?? ... it's China >
Rider !!! time to close the 1st Set !! Dang ... Hot ! The treat in Set II is undoubtedly a
beautiful-version of ' To Lay Me Down ' - where Garcia indeed digs deep ...
and the ' middle ' of this Show just lines up perfectly ! Tempo, pace,
blend, transitions, etc. - you name it ! >>> Sailor > Saint
> Drums > Other One > Stella Blue > GDTRFB ! ... and to Close
up this hard night of work for the band - hard work that came Easy !
>>> Satisfaction !!! Brokedown Encore - and then the Deadhead
Faithful are flowing out of this old building ... just about floating on
air !! And, of course ... though I'm probably re-stating the
very-obvious - this indeed is the quintessential G.D. " Dead Set " '80 Art
based design - delivered so-awesomely by Dennis Larkins & Peter
Barsotti in 1980 - used in one form or another on Posters, etc. for the
Dead Set Cover - Warfield Poster - Radio City Music Hall Poster - Handbills - Tour Shirts - you name it. And, as the photos well show - it's
that Cool ! And, Especially ! in Red, White & Blue !!! Uncle Sam
relaxing with his thoughts - looking on the Golden Gate Bridge ! - while
Ms. Uncle Sam is doing the same thing, but her view ... New York City ! and the Hudson ! A " Quintessential ! " G.D. Pass here - to say the very-least - and one -- for Rochester !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
