The Ferrari 125 S was the first car to bear the Ferrari name. Created in Maranello by Enzo Ferrari's Auto Avio Costruzioni, it paired Gioacchino Colombo's compact 1.5-litre V12 with a light tubular steel chassis. Franco Cortese gave it a competition debut at Piacenza on 11 May 1947 and Ferrari's first victory in Rome fourteen days later. The 125 S would record six victories during 1947.
