The American Association was a Triple-A circuit that operated from 1902 through the 1997 season, with a break from 1962-1969. Joe Ryan was President of the league from 1972-1987 and again in 1989. The manufacturer (MacGregor) and the font used for the stamping date this ball precisely to a two-year period,1984-1985.
