After a Black writer is found dead at a scandalous interracial party, cub reporter Zane Pinchback goes “incognegro” — using his light skin to pass as white — to hunt down the true killer. Reviewers called it “refreshing” for exploring the Harlem Renaissance and the concept of racial “passing” in a genuinely unique way, with one review specifically praising the uncompromising look at the racial divide.

This is a genuinely well-regarded literary/noir mystery series — a nice change of pace from the superhero stacks, and it’ll appeal to a different collector base (literary graphic novel readers, Vertigo/Berger Books completists).
