Acer Palmatum Sharp's Pygmy Japanese Maple Bonsai Starter or Young Specimen 1Litre Pot
Japanese maples are the ''crème de la crème'' of every garden. A majestic looking tree needs very little or no pruning at all and we recommend letting it form its own shape.
I have for sale a very nice 2 year old dwarf small leafed Japanese maple Sharp's Pygmy in a 1 litre pot. Pictures 1-5 are of the tree in the auction. This is a fantastic variety which is considered to be one of the best dwarf Japanese Maple. Spring foliage emerges green with red edges that give way to green in the summer but the red can reappear if given bright indirect light. The small leaves are finely cut and the autumn colour is a wonderful deep red with streaks of orange(pic6). Height grows to approx 1m. Sun or dappled shade.
This will make a lovely outdoor bonsai starter tree and is often used in bonsai training or can be grown into a lovely small dwarf ornamental specimen. Height of the plant is approx 25cm from top of pot.
Japanese maples prefer acidic to neutral soil, moist but well drained, fertile. Shelter from strong winds. Fully hardy
I don't graft big numbers of each variety but do have over 200 varieties of Japanese maples in my collection, so keep an eye out for future listings.
Please note - These Trees/shrubs are deciduous so they will lose all their leaves in autumn to leave bare twigs, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring when the beautiful leaves open up.
Plants are sent in recyclable cardboard boxes packed with bio-degradable nuggets to reduce chances of damage
About the Seller
Willowbridge Plants is a small family nursery. It is run by Karl Shorrock. Fully qualified and with 45 years experience. We grow a very wide eclectic range of plants including perennials, shrubs, herbs, a wide range of peonies and my beloved Japanese maples. Most of the plants we sell have been grown on our nursery, some may have been bought in as little plants and grown on. We grow plants to be hardy and tough and to survive once planted in your garden, so all our plants are hardened off before sale. We use no insecticides on our plants, instead using biological control eg ladybirds for aphids and some substances that are organic and safe to use for people, pets and wildlife. I am happy to answer your questions/queries about this or anything else, please email me.
