An original 19th-century engraving of Pompeii, depicting the famous Street of the Tombs (Strada de’ Sepolcri / Rue des Tombeaux).

Dating to 1835, the engraving is credited “Huber del.” for the original drawing, “Durau sc.” as engraver and “Audot edit.” as publisher/editor.

The finely detailed scene shows the ancient road lined with monumental tombs, with figures walking amongst the excavated ruins of Pompeii.

The print was purchased in Naples, Italy, and is accompanied by a certificate of guarantee from Libreria Colonnese, identifying it as an original 1835 print.
