Original 19th-century engraving depicting the Street of Tombs at Pompeii (Strada de’ Sepolcri / Rue des Tombeaux).

The engraving is marked “Huber del.” to the lower left and “Durau sc.” to the lower right, with “Audot edit.” beneath the image. The accompanying certificate identifies the print as dating to c.1835.

A finely detailed period view of one of Pompeii’s most recognisable archaeological sites, showing the ancient road lined with funerary monuments and tombs.

Condition: Age-related foxing, spotting and light discolouration, mainly to the margins. The engraved image remains clear and well defined. Please see photographs for full condition.
