Vintage 1-1/2" Solid Brass Display Type Set – 141 Pieces
Large vintage solid-brass character set consisting of 141 individual pieces, including a complete A–Z alphabet with duplicates, numbers, punctuation and symbols.
The characters have a nominal face size of approximately 1-1/2 inches. Representative measurements are shown in the photos. The set weighs approximately 8 lbs.
Several pieces have 103-series markings, while many pieces are unmarked. The purpose or manufacturer associated with these markings has not been identified.
These pieces resemble oversized letterpress/printing type and are being listed in the letterpress category for collector and search purposes. However, because of their unusual size, construction and approximately .251" body thickness, we have not confirmed that they were manufactured for conventional letterpress printing. They may have been intended for display, stamping, embossing, sign-making or another specialized industrial printing application.

The set is vintage and shows normal age, handling marks, oxidation/patina and surface wear. Representative pieces were lightly cleaned for photography; the remainder retain their original patina.
All 141 pieces shown in the inventory photographs are included. Please review all photos carefully for the exact characters, quantities and condition.
