Large vintage estate collection of fly tying materials. This is a well-rounded assortment of natural feathers, animal hair, hooks, tools, thread, and fly tying supplies from a longtime Wyoming fly fisherman/fly tier.

Included are materials from recognizable vintage suppliers including Hook & Hackle Co. (Plattsburgh, NY), Berg’s Sports Den (Billings, Montana), and The Bug Shop Fly Tiers’ Supplies (Billings, Montana).

The collection includes a wide variety of natural fly tying materials, including what I believe to be:

• Complete grizzly hackle/saddle patches
• Guinea fowl feathers
• Pheasant feathers and tail feathers
• Mallard and assorted duck feathers
• Soft hackle and marabou feathers
• Deer hair, bucktail, and assorted natural fur
• Rabbit and other dubbing materials
• Vintage chenille, floss, thread, tinsel, and wire
• Multiple boxes of assorted fly hooks
• Fly tying tools including bobbins, whip finishers, bodkins, hackle pliers, and other accessories
• Miscellaneous vintage fly tying supplies and some finished flies
• Vintage Herter’s No. 3 fly tying vise. Appears to have been modified or repaired at some point. Functions as found. See photos for condition.

Everything shown in the photographs is included, except the wooden drawer.

This is an estate-found collection that has not been individually inventoried. Some packages are opened while others appear unused. Materials show normal age and storage wear but appear to be in good vintage condition overall.
