Ocean Jasper is a rare mineral, from only one mine near Marovato, Madagascar. Is called Ocean Jasper because the deposits are part of the coastline, and can only be reached by boat, and removed only during low tide. This stone is immediately recognizable by its concentric rings of color, earning at the name "Orbicular Ocean Jasper."
Ocean Jasper
Ocean Jasper is a silicon dioxide mineral that occurs in highly silicified rhyolite. This means that it is in the Quartz family and just like all other Jaspers it has a hardness of 6.5 to 7. Ocean Jasper is sometimes called Orbicular Jasper, a broad term given to several Jaspers displaying perfect circles throughout the piece. The peculiar orbs or "bull's eye" patterns are caused when Quartz and feldspar crystallize in radial aggregates of needle shaped crystals. A few of these other Orbicular Jaspers are Poppy Jasper and Leopard Skin Jasper. Many of these other orbicular jaspers are found in various locations throughout the world, however none are as rare as Ocean Jasper! Only found in one locale in the world – off the northwest coast of Madagascar.
Another exceptional quality of Ocean Jasper is translucency. Many specimens are opaque and still very beautiful while others, when held in front of a strong light source, display what can only be described as another world! When viewed in front of a bright light the translucent, clear, or just foggy background illuminates and displays the contrasting solid perfect circles –the orbs- which then reveal exactly why Ocean Jasper is sometimes called "Fish Eye Jasper". These solid, soft looking spheres appear suspended in the illuminated quartz, and they can make one tempted to reach in and try to touch them!

We offer combined shipping. Combined shipping saves your shipping cost greatly. You are allowed up to 7 days for your multiple purchases at Skullis store.
How to calculate the combined shipping?
1) For Standard(Speedpak Standard): please deduct $6 for each additional item;
2) For Expedited(FedEx/UPS/DHL/EMS): please deduct $14 for each additional item.
How to pay the combined shipping?
You have 3 options:
1) Input the calculated combined shipping amount yourself when you check out;
2) Request an invoice from us. We will send you an invoice with combined shipping and you pay the invoice;
3) Just pay all the original shipping charges in the listings. And we will send you refund on shipping (according to the combined shipping rates) once we get your payment.
Why is Standard(Speedpak Standard) shipping not available for some items?
Standard(Speedpak Standard) is more than Expedited(FedEx/UPS/DHL/EMS) shipping for items weighing over 400g (approximately 0.88lbs). Therefore, it creates a loss for customers to choose Standard(Speedpak Standard) on these occasions (which is more expensive and less speedy). So we've canceled this service because Skullis always tries its best to provide consideration and convenience to customers.
