Vintage Handyhot folding travel electric iron manufactured by Chicago Electric Mfg. Co., Made in U.S.A.

This classic compact travel iron features a polished chrome body, detachable cloth-covered power cord with EXCEL connector and spring strain relief, folding/removable hardwood handle, and its original brown velveteen travel pouch with soft plaid felt lining and brass-colored zipper.

The iron is marked 115 Volts / 400 Watts and was briefly tested, heating quickly during inspection.

The included pouch displays nicely and provides convenient storage. It shows expected age and storage wear but remains a desirable original accessory.

Condition

The chrome body presents well with normal light wear consistent with age. The soleplate has typical scratching and discoloration from prior use.

The original power cord remains with the iron and retains its Underwriters Laboratories inspection tag.

Please note the following:

Original cloth-covered cord has an older fabric-wrapped repair/splice.

Molded rubber plug housing is cracked/broken where the cord enters the plug.

Small section of the cloth braid is visible at the damaged plug housing.

Iron was briefly tested and heats properly.

Because this is a vintage electrical appliance with its original cord, it is being sold as a collectible/travel iron, and the cord should be inspected, repaired, or replaced before regular use.
