Authentic 935 silver filigree brooch, clearly stamped “PALESTINE”, dating to the
Mandatory Palestine period (c.1920s–1940s). Jewellery marked “PALESTINE” was produced
prior to the establishment of Israel in 1948 and is now sought after by collectors of
historic Middle Eastern silver, pre-1948 Palestine jewellery, and early 20th-century filigree work.
This is a large example at 47mm diameter, featuring finely hand-wound filigree wirework in acircular floral rosette design with a braided rope edge. The craftsmanship is consistent with traditional Jerusalem / Continental filigree techniques of the period.
The brooch retains an original-style pin fitting; the safety chain appears to be a later replacement, which is common on pieces of this age
An excellent addition for collectors of Palestine-marked silver, Judaica silver jewellery,
or early 20th-century filigree brooches, and well suited to international buyers seeking
documented pre-1948 pieces.
