Here for you a Rare example of Darlot's 1866 Wide Angle Hemispherical, the seldom seen in the early and true Hemi (half) spherical layout with the rear element distinctly globe shaped and the front element with milder curvature  and complete with the often missing cone shaped baffle on the front element,  used to keep internal reflections to a minimum. This fine example of the No2 with a low serial number of 285 and a 3" 75mm back focus with the actual focal length approximately 85mm, covering a 100 degree angle with a up to 203mm circle and sold for 4x5 use by Darlot. In use you are rewarded with excellent sharpness contrast and wide angle of view, and the unique aura of this lens on film or wet or dry plate, just be sure your camera can comfortably use lenses down to 65mm (minimum extension) or make wide angle box camera in wood or 3D printed.

Condition

The brass barrel shows some  loss of finish / brassing to the rim and edge of aperture levers but well kept overall , the three aperture levers works well and marked in millimeters 6,5,4 in a modern scale of approx f/12,16,22 with no lever in place the aperture for composition / focus is f/9. The glass excellent with no fungus or scratches a small amount of edge separation to the rear element and being globe shaped there is a small group of light cleaning marks to the center and just the possibility of a little dust. Sorry no caps but the elements will be protected when shipped. The original flange is included.
