This is an original copperplate engraved map entitled "Paradise, or the Garden of Eden, With the Countries Circumjacent Inhabited by the Patriarchs", published by Richard Blome in The History of the Old and New Testament.

Published in the 1690 Old Testament section of Blome's celebrated biblical history, the map depicts the biblical world of the Patriarchs, centred on the Garden of Eden. It extends from Asia Minor and the Mediterranean eastwards through Mesopotamia to Assyria and Persia, illustrating the rivers associated with Eden, the lands of Nod, Cush and Arabia, together with numerous biblical places, kingdoms and geographical features mentioned in Genesis.
Cartographer: Richard Blome (1635–1705) was an English cartographer, publisher and bookseller, renowned for producing some of the finest English atlases and geographical works of the late 17th century.

Condition: Good antique condition. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description. Please note that it retains its original folds from storage in the book, with some creasing visible along the fold lines. The map has been professionally laid down onto a supporting sheet of paper many years ago. There is some wear along one of the original fold lines, although the old backing has secured the paper well and the map remains sound and stable.
