This over Gi is in great condition for its age. No longer produced. Has had 2 thorough washes to ensure hygiene. No holes and very little wear. Deeper blue than the photos are showing. Tokaido is a premium Japanese brand, over £100 when new. For a rough idea of size the inside leg is 31", but the leg cuff is elasticated. The distance between the armpits (so effectively just across the front) is 25", but this is a loose fit and designed to go over heavyweight suits.
Features
- The Silhouette: Unlike the slim-cut models available today, the 2000's version featured an incredibly loose, oversized baggy fit. This extra fabric was intentional, allowing martial artists to quickly pull the tracksuit over heavy, stiff 14oz traditional canvas kata gis without causing any restriction or binding at the knees and shoulders.
- Colour Scheme: It was produced in a deep, classic navy blue (often referred to in catalogs as dark blue).
- Fabric Composition: The mid-2000s versions relied on a thicker, heavier polyester or nylon-blend shell compared to today's ultra-lightweight elastane blends. This gave the older suits a highly structured, slightly swishing texture characteristic of classic vintage warm-up suits.
- Minimalist Branding: The branding of this era typically featured the traditional Tokaido kanji or name.
