Up for sale is a beautiful piece of mid-century Western Americana: a vintage "Mallory by Stetson" brown felt cowboy hat in a desirable size 7 1/4.
This hat represents a brief, highly collectible era of American headwear history. Following Stetson's acquisition of the historic Mallory Hat Company in 1952, co-branded "Mallory by Stetson" lines were produced until the Mallory back-shop closed permanently in 1965. This places the production of this premium piece firmly between 1952 and 1965.
Adding incredible historic character, the inner genuine leather sweatband features a crisp, legible retail gold stamp from the legendary "Frontier Boot Corral, Phoenix, Arizona." This confirms exactly where this hat was originally sold to its first owner in the mid-century Southwest.
