Invicta Coalition Forces 1939

This timepiece has had a long history at Invicta. This design is what established the “Coalition Forces” model line which remains part of Invicta’s product till today. Over the years this timepiece has been available in many guises. Many different colour variations including hydroplating and different movements have been used. I have previously sold these pieces with either Swiss or Japanese Quartz movements, mechanical automatics and even a “Ana-digi” version which was powered by an analog Quartz moment and a digital readout displaying day and date information.

Model 1939 I have listed here is a rare beast. It is the “Swiss Made” version which is out of production. At the heart of these pieces is the Swiss Ronda 5040.D. This 13 jewel movement supports chronograph functions of 1/10th seconds, elapsed seconds and accumulated minutes. A date window can be can be found at the 4 o’clock position.

A beautiful high gloss dark blue dial contrasts with the large framed hour and minute hands which have been finished in white lume. The main sweep seconds hand has also been finished in white lume. Five minute indices sit atop rises extending upwards from the deep dished dial. Indices have been finished in white lume, outlined in silver.

This model is fitted with the more desirable “vertically grooved” bezel. Knurling on its outer edge provides for ease of grip if setting dive times. The screw down crown sits in the 3 o’clock position, it is 11 mm in dia and is protected by a swing across hinged lever which fastens to the top of crown guards machined into the stainless case. Screw down chronograph pushers flank either side of the crown providing for a water resistance of up to 100 metres.

The stainless bracelet is a solid three link unit 32mm wide at the case, tapering to 26mm wide at the machined over centre, double locking clasp with micro adjustment. The bracelet compliments the timepiece brilliantly. It is such an overdone brute of a watch which looks as though it was just unbolted from the side of a battle tank.

Being “Swiss Made” the overall finishing and attention to detail is remarkable. Even the screw down back has been three dimensionally engraved with the “Coalition Forces” name. Both linished and polished finishes compliment this extraordinary timepiece.

Timepieces are new and in limited quantities. They come in an Invicta Presentation Case, plastics attached, with tag and paperwork. Will be sent for free via Express Post within the land of Oz.

I have been fielding enquiries recently in relation to the authenticity of the watches I sell and also customers wanting all plastics removed from the watches when being photographed.

Firstly all my watches are certainly authentic. I do not sell, replica watches all though I do know that replica Invicta's do exist as I have myself unknowingly purchase a couple. My advice is not to buy Invicta watches where the country of origin is China. Having said that both replica's I purchased were from the United States, obviously marketed through Chinese affiliates in that country. Try to buy from reputable sellers.

If I describe a watch as new, then it is new and generally is wrapped in the manufacture's plastics. I do remove and replace some but not all of these plastics for photographic clarity. Most of my customers prefer an unmolested product where plastics are concerned however if you are genuine in your enquiry and prefer that all plastics be removed for photographic purposes then contact me and I will oblige
