This is an original antique copperplate engraving from The History of the Old and New Testament, Extracted out of Sacred Scripture, and Writings of the Fathers.

The book was published by Richard Blome in London in 1690.

The original design for this engraving was by George Freman, an illustrator who produced work for books during the late Stuart period.

The engraving was executed by P. P. Bouche, an accomplished engraver who contributed a number of the plates for Blome's celebrated Bible.

This print: The Children Devoured by Bears, from 2 Kings 2, depicting the judgement upon the youths who mocked the prophet Elisha.

This is a genuine print from the year stated (1690), not a later reproduction. As such, it may show signs of age including foxing, toning, staining or other imperfections. Please study the photographs carefully to assess the exact condition.
