A finely cast Chinese bronze censer of compressed circular form, bearing a four-character Xuande seal mark to the underside.

The vessel is of substantial weight (approx. 954g) with a thickened rim and gently tapering body, applied with two well-modelled lion mask handles featuring detailed curled manes and expressive features. The surface displays a natural, mottled brown patina with red undertones and areas of age-related oxidation, consistent with period bronze work.

The base carries a cast Xuande-type seal mark within a recessed foot. Marks of this nature were widely employed during the Qing dynasty and later periods in tribute to earlier Ming prototypes.

The interior shows consistent oxidation and age wear. Casting quality, weight and surface character suggest a 19th century Qing style example or later homage piece rather than a modern decorative reproduction.

Dimensions:
Approx. 12–13cm diameter (see measurement photos)
Weight: 954 grams

Condition:
Good overall condition with surface wear, oxidation and patina consistent with age. No visible cracks or repairs observed.

A strong and decorative scholar’s object, well suited to collectors of Chinese bronzes or Asian works of art.
