Part Number: SMA3100-0316 — a straight SMA plug (conventional male, with male pin) terminated by crimping the ferrule to the cable braid and soldering the centre pin to the inner conductor. Designed for the popular small-diameter 50 Ω cables RG174, RG188, RG316 and RG316-FEP, it suits test leads, jumpers, instrumentation patch cables and any build where flexibility and a compact footprint matter more than power handling.
The MIL-STD-348B interface is mechanically compatible with 2.92 mm and 3.5 mm connectors, so it can be mated into precision test fittings as well as standard SMA. Construction is brass body, ferrule, contact pin and coupling nut with gold-over-nickel-phosphorous plating, a beryllium copper retainer ring, silicone gasket and PTFE insulator.
Tooling. Use crimp tool CRT-1 or CRT-2 with INSERT-A on the ferrule, and an ST-0.4 soldering gauge for the centre pin. If you’d rather not build them yourself, we make these up as custom cable assemblies — just send the cable, length and end connectors and we’ll quote.
