Original antique Victorian map titled “London (North East Sheet)”, drawn and engraved by Edward Weller, F.R.G.S., and published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin, Belle Sauvage Yard, Ludgate Hill, London.

This is the North East sheet from Cassell’s large multi-sheet map of London, c.1862–1863. It shows a detailed street plan of north-east London, including Hackney, Dalston, Lower Clapton, Hackney Downs, Hackney Wick, Homerton, London Fields, Victoria Park, Old Ford and surrounding areas.

The map includes streets, houses, railways, canals, parks, churches, schools, works, reservoirs, bridges and other Victorian London features. The reverse has an old handwritten note reading “N.E Sheet.”

Approximate size: 70 cm x 52 cm.

Condition: original antique folded condition with visible fold lines, creasing, age-related handling wear, small tears/nicks and some wear along the folds and edges. There are a few small split/worn areas along the central fold, but the map is complete and very displayable. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.

A very attractive original Victorian London map for collectors of Hackney, Clapton, Dalston, Homerton, Victoria Park, East London, London history, Edward Weller maps, Cassell maps, Victorian street plans or antique cartography.
