Japanese Tatsuno Ware Peacock Glaze Vase Gaei Matsuyama Signed Tomobako
This is a Japanese Tatsuno ware ceramic flower vase (*hanaire*) crafted by Gaei Matsuyama. It is accompanied by its original signed wooden storage box (*tomobako*).
The vessel features a distinctive peacock glaze (*kujaku-yu*), characterized by a deep reddish-purple base decorated with cascading, mottled blue-green spots reminiscent of peacock feathers. The lower perimeter near the base displays two intentional unglazed triangular sections where the pale ceramic clay body is visible. The artist's signature seal is stamped into the unglazed underside within a hexagonal frame.

The vase is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or modern repairs. The unglazed base and the exposed clay sections near the bottom exhibit natural surface textures and minor residue from the kiln firing process.
