The Asahel Curtis sampler  Photographs of Puget Sound Past - David Sucher Ed NOS
New old stock

Presents a selection of Asahel Curtis' (1874-1941) photographs mostly taken in and around Seattle during the final decade of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th. Asahel Curtis was the brother of Edward Curtis, also a famed photographer and ethnologist. While Edward's interests centered around the West and the Native Americans of the region, Asahel's interests were more eclectic as this volume demonstrates with pictures of the Klondike gold rush mixed in with photos demonstrating the developing city of Seattle. Forward by Northwest historian Murray Morgan and Afterword by former Seattle mayor, Wes Uhlman.
