Originally distributed in Japan by the Top Seika chewing gum company, Topsun cards are among the earliest and most historically significant Pokémon collectibles ever produced. While the copyright text reads "1995," these cards were commercially released in 1997.

The Blue Back "No Number" variant represents the absolute first print run of the expansion, making it a true holy grail for vintage variant collectors.

• The Backing: The very first printings featured a distinct blue backing. Later prints transitioned to a green back.

• The Error: During this initial first print run, a manufacturing omission left a select batch of cards completely missing the Pokémon’s official Pokédex number in the top corner of the text box.

Because this numbering omission was corrected very quickly by the factory, "No Number" blue backs are incredibly scarce and represent the earliest possible printing of this iconic set.
