He was a pupil of Pompeo Marino Molmenti and Napoleone Nani at the Academia di Belle Arti in Venice. He continued to reside in Venice painting vedute and genre subjects in a style that recalled Giacomo Favretto. InTurin, in 1880, he exhibited: Il pasto della gallina; in Milan, in 1881: Sulle fondamenta; in Venice, in 1881: Dame un baso; at the 1882 Promotrice: Il pasto alle galline; in 1883 in Rome: A ti cocoloìPost prandium; in Turin, in 1884: In un'ora d'ozio and Pecà esser veci!. At the 1887 Venice Exhibition, he sent: Primi saggiLa sagra al nonno; to the 1887 and 1888 Promotrice he sent: a lettera interessanteUna dichiarazioneLa fede di stato libero; and a Amore materno.

MESMERISING  OIL ON CANVAS, SIGNED BOLDLY 'PASTEGA', LOWER LEFT. HOUSED IN A LATER, GILT FRAME. BEARS PLAQUE WITH ARTIST'S DETAILS & TITLE.

Generally in very good condition. Has been lined, at some point, to a very good standard. No noticeable signs of re-touchings or repairs. Paint slightly thin/rubbed in top right corner in the background. Good clean condition. Housed in a later, heavy, gilt frame. Frame generally very good with minor damage to one corner.
